NEIGHBOURHOOD
Musso is a quiet location, away from mass tourism, situated on the picturesque shores of Lake Como. Musso is approximately five kilometres from Santa Maria Rezzonico, a small village that still preserves remnants of the medieval period - such as cobblestone alleys and a thirteenth-century castle right on a pebbly beach. An almost enchanted landscape on the western shore of Lake Como, facing Bellagio and Varenna, two of the most renowned lakeside resorts on the opposite shore, with the Swiss Alps in the background. You will find tranquility strolling through the winding alleyways and along the short lakeside with a small harbour.
Musso is still close to some of the most beautiful and famous villas on Lake Como. A few kilometres away, for example, are Villa Balbianello and Villa Carlotta. Moreover, in a few minutes by car, you can reach the splendid town of Menaggio, from where you can take a ferry to reach other lakeside locations. Menaggio is also famous for its beautiful lakeside promenade, offering breathtaking views, and outdoor enthusiasts will find a kind of paradise here. The surrounding area offers a myriad of activities, from hiking and mountain biking in the nearby mountains to water sports such as sailing, kayaking, and paddleboarding on the lake. Nature lovers will also appreciate the abundance of hiking trails leading to breathtaking viewpoints, allowing you to fully appreciate the natural beauty of Lake Como.

GETTING AROUND
For convenience, we recommend our guests to reach the property by car. The property can also be reached from Como by taking bus line C10 - the bus stop is just a few metres from the property. Additionally, you can simply exit the property by the lake to take ferries to Como, Bellagio, Varenna, and other towns on the lake. Tickets can also be purchased online on the Navigazione Laghi website. There is also a ferry that transports cars. Musso is approximately 50 kilometers from Como, and the journey takes about one hour. From Como San Giovanni train station, there are regular trains to Milan Centrale and Switzerland (Lugano, Bellinzona, Locarno). From Como Nord Lago, there is a train connection to Milan Cadorna.
The nearest airports are Milan Malpensa, Milan Linate, and Orio Al Serio in Bergamo. A direct shuttle service to and from the airport can be arranged at an additional cost. For further questions about transportation, please feel free to contact us; we will be happy to assist and ensure you reach your preferred destination!

TIPS
>We advise you to take a day to visit the marvellous little towns around the lake. The little towns are gems with glorious lakeside villas.
>To travel and walk around Lake Como, especially in the little towns, comfortable shoes are a must.
>There are many public drinking-water fountains in the area, and the water is safe to drink unless stated otherwise. Tap water is also drinkable. You can carry your own refillable bottle!
>If you are looking for a relatively easy hike in the area and want to enjoy mountain views anyway, Lake Como Greenway is an easy-to-follow trail that doesn't require too much walking uphill. It connects the little towns from Colonno to Griante. A bus will take you from Menaggio to the starting point in Colonno.
>Look for traditional restaurants where you can try local foods such as Lake Como fish dishes.
>In Italy, many shops (especially the little ones) and services are closed in the middle of the day, so be careful to plan your shopping accordingly.
>Lake Como is one of the deepest lakes in Europe and the deepest in Italy. Swimming and diving are prohibited in many areas and can be dangerous. For those who wish to dwell in the water, however, there are some options. There is a beach (“lido”) in Menaggio. Locals and visitors also enjoy traveling to Nesso where the bravest swimmers can jump into the lake from the ancient Roman bridge near the waterfall.
Lido di Bellagio and pebbly San Giovanni beach will be waiting for those who wish to travel farther and explore the beautiful town of Bellagio which lies in the middle of the two Larian branches.
>Lake Como is located in a mountainous region. The surrounding pre-Alps might not seem very high, but the climate is nevertheless affected by the nearby mountains, and temperatures can change quickly. Be particularly attentive to the weather when hiking, and bring some warm and waterproof clothes with you!
